2022 Cognitive Interviews Conducted with Puerto Rico Enrollees

In late summer 2022, CMS conducted one-on-one cognitive interviews by phone with enrollees residing in Puerto Rico. The interviews focused on enrollee experience, interpretation of, and response to a subset of items on access, communication, and care coordination, plus new survey items on telehealth, appointment start time, test results, communication, and perceived unfair treatment. A PDF document containing a summary of the cognitive interview findings can be found here.

2017 Enrollee Focus Groups Conducted in Puerto Rico

In July 2017, CMS conducted focus groups with Medicare enrollees residing in Puerto Rico on access to care (appointment setting, access to urgent care) and wait time after arriving for an appointment. A PDF document containing a summary of the focus group findings can be found here.
